South Australia’s Immerse Yourself summer holiday marine programme is back again with over 100 organised activities from snorkelling to sand-castle competitions being held in the state’s marine parks.

The free or very affordable family-friendly coast and marine activities will be on throughout January 2018.

The activities include snorkelling tours, recreational fishing and kayaking events, sand mandala making, guided tours of SA’s coasts and building sand castles.

For a full list of activities and to book your spot visit the marine parks website.

Background

The Immerse Yourself Programme is jointly funded by State and Australian Governments as well as Natural Resources Boards across South Australia, and aims to increase the number of people involved in fun and educational activities in marine parks.

The summer school holidays are a perfect time for families to explore South Australia’s beaches and to cool off in our unique marine parks.

Last summer the Immerse Yourself Programme saw more than 1,500 people take part in around 40 activities across the state.

We have ramped up the activities this summer and we hope even more people will take advantage of this great programme.

Make the most of your local marine park this summer and immerse yourself in SA’s incredible underwater world for a new view on nature. Also keep an eye out for the newly wrapped marine education van: ‘Coral the caravan’.
