School visits

Visiting Naracoorte Caves as part of a school excursion offers a rare opportunity for educators to explore the world of World Heritage values, geology, cave science, palaeontology and research, bats and their biology and tourism.

With something for everyone – ranging from one day options to a week long excursion – our team of experienced guides are happy to work with you to customise your visit.

Some of our suggested educational tours include:

The Kids' Shed

We have an education room available for use by schools. It's a fantastic base for hands-on educational activities, including activates such as digging for fossils.

The Kids' Shed works particularly well after a visit to the Victoria Fossil Cave and/or Wonambi Fossil Centre.

Wirreanda Bunkhouse

The Wirreanda Bunkhouse provides dormitory-style accommodation for 45-50 people and is a very affordable option for school camps. Two 'education cupboards' contain interesting items that school groups may use.
