There are currently over 100 South Australian plant species listed as nationally threatened under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

At a state level, a total of 828 plant species are listed as threatened under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972. Of these, 41 are considered to be extinct in South Australia.

The plants listed as threatened in South Australia can be divided into broad groupings according to their taxonomic categories. We will be regularly uploading detailed information about them under the headings below:
