The churches, cottages and character of the Gawler Church Hill State Heritage Area are best enjoyed on foot, although many visitors opt for a short scenic drive along Cowan Street.

Gawler is South Australia's oldest country town and a gateway to the Barossa Valley. It actively promotes its rich built heritage through walking trails, tours, interpretive material and tourism strategies, that all include aspects of the Gawler Church Hill area. Various types of accommodation, dining and other facilities are readily available within the town.
