SA Moorings Program

South Australian Moorings Program to Protect Sensitive Marine Sites

Mooring buoys, fitted with a yellow St Andrews Cross topmark and a flashing light, have been installed at the shipwreck sites listed below. Mooring bridles are fitted to each buoy to facilitate recreational and charter vessels up to12 metres length or 15 tonnes displacement (maximum wind speed 20 knots). Only one vessel can make fast at any one time. Caution should be used in the vicinity of all buoys due to wreck and reef hazards and strong tides. Coordinates for the buoys are in GPS datum-WGS 84.
