Consultation closed but work is still underway
Consultation on the draft management plan for Arkaroola Protection Area has now closed. Submissions are now being reviewed and work on the plan continues.
Community consultation is an important aspect of the process and we thank all those who provided their feedback.
The final plan will be available on the DEWNR website when it has been adopted by the Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation.
The Arkaroola Protection Area Draft Management Plan 2015 has been released for public consultation over a three month period to facilitate community input into the development of a management plan for the park in accordance with the Akaroola Protection Act 2012.
The draft plan sets out objectives and strategies for the ongoing protection and conservation of the natural and cultural values of Arkaroola Protection Area. The draft has been developed in consultation with those people who have an interest in the area and those with responsibility for its management, including the private property owners and the lessees.
You are invited to contribute by making a submission.
Submissions received on the draft plan will contribute to the preparation of the final plan, which will then be forwarded to the Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation for consideration, together with a detailed analysis of submissions received.
