Rotary Club of Burnside’s Leadership in Conservation and Volunteer of the Parks Awards

Nominations are now open for the Rotary Club of Burnside’s 2017 Leadership in Conservation and Volunteer of the Parks Awards. These awards are to recognise the dedication and contribution of DEWNR staff and volunteers in the conservation and protection of some of South Australia’s valuable landscapes, including our national parks.

The two award categories include:

  • 2017 Rotary Leadership in Conservation Award for DEWNR Employees
  • 2017 Rotary Volunteer/s of the Parks.

About the awards

2017 Rotary Leadership in Conservation Award for DEWNR Employees

The Leadership in Conservation Award is to recognise the dedication of Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) staff members.  

The award is open to all staff working within DEWNR. There is no ‘minimum years of service’ required.

In selecting the successful nominee, the Selection Panel will consider the:

  • outstanding service demonstrated by the nominee (e.g. innovation in program or technique, excelled in leadership, project development)
  • positive impact made by the nominated person to the parks system 
  • support to volunteers or other community groups.

2017 Rotary Volunteer/s of the Parks

The Volunteer/s of the Parks Award is to recognise an individual or couple who exemplify the spirit and dedication of the Friends of Parks movement. 

The award is open to Friends of Parks volunteers. There is no ‘minimum years of service’ required.

In selecting the successful nominee(s), the Selection Panel will consider the:

  • outstanding service demonstrated by the nominee (e.g. innovation in program or technique, excelled in leadership, project development)
  • positive impact made by the nominated person to the parks system and to the Friends of Parks organisation. 

Nominations can be made by an individual volunteer, volunteer group, agency staff or community member. 

Winners of the awards will be announced at the Award Presentation Dinner, which will be held in April 2017, at the Belair Park Country Club.
