The Streambank Froglet is an amazing frog whose tadpoles are adapted to living in fast flowing streams. It is also unique as it lacks a tympanum (a disk-like external ear). Similar to other Crinia species, the Streambank Froglet displays highly variable skin colour and patterns. The froglet's greatest claim to fame is that it is South Australia's only endemic frog it is found in South Australia and nowhere else). Its distribution is restricted to the Flinders and Gammon ranges.
