Peron's Tree Frog
Background

Peron's Tree Frog is found in swamps and billabongs along the River Murray. Its call, often described as a 'maniacal cackle' is the frog's most distinguishing characteristic. It is mostly grey and has a number of small, pale-greenish spots. The skin fold above its tympanum, or ear, is marked by a thin black line. The back of the thighs are heavily marked with black on yellow or orange.
