Cruising in the Port Adelaide River

Environmental initiatives

In addition to the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, many other projects are currently underway to address impacts of human activities, improve the water quality and foster an understanding of the issues relating to this environment.

Department for Environment and Heritage

Key initiatives of the Coast and Marine Conservation Branch include work on marine planning, marine biodiversity and conservation, estuaries management and establishing a representative system of marine parks. Have a look at the Coast and Marine Education page too!

Environment Protection Authority

Primary Industries and Resources SA (Fisheries)

Take a look through the Fisheries page and find out more about recreational fishing, environmental issues (including introduced Caulerpa taxifolia) and aquatic reserves such as the St Kilda-Chapman Creek and Barker Inlet-St Kilda, both reserves within the Sanctuary.
