The Botanic Gardens of Adelaide is a State Government statutory authority as defined by State Legislation

The Board of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide consists of eight members appointed by the Governor of South Australia.

The Director of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide attends all meetings which are held on a bi-monthly basis. The Manager Strategies and Risk acts as executive officer to the Board.
