The Flinders Ranges
The Flinders Ranges geographic cell includes the Southern, Central and Northern Flinders Ranges. The Southern Flinders Ranges refers to the area from Mt Remarkable, north towards approximately Hawker, with the Central Flinders Ranges incorporating the Flinders Ranges National Park and the area towards Blinman, while the Northern Flinders Ranges captures the country including the Vulkathunha-Gammon Ranges National Park and Arkaroola. The majority of project work in this cell has occurred in the Central and Northern Flinders Ranges from the Flinders Ranges National Park through to Arkaroola Sanctuary, and there has recently been further expansion into the Southern Flinders Ranges towards Mt Remarkable and Mambray Creek.
The Gawler Ranges
The operational area in the Gawler Ranges centres on the recently proclaimed Gawler Ranges National Park which includes the former Paney pastoral lease and parts of Scrubby Peak lease, and the extensive mallee habitat of Pinkawillinie Conservation Park. Additional focus has been placed on areas off-reserve adjacent to the Gawler Ranges NP where at-risk populations of the Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby still occur.
The Olary Ranges
Much of Bounceback's original effort in the Olary Ranges was in support of the conservation work being done on Plumbago and Bimbowrie Stations by the landholders and managers. Work on Plumbago Station in particular resulted in spectacular results achieved in the recovery of Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby populations on the property. In recent years, additional effort was directed to neighbouring Bimbowrie Station, following the recent transfer of the property into the reserve network. |
