Heysen Trail Guides

The Heysen Trail is one of the world's great walking trails and the longest dedicated walking trail in Australia.

The Heysen Trail guide books include topographic maps of the trail, safety information, trip planning information plus information about facilities such as accommodation and camp sites. The Southern Guide provides coverage of the Heysen Trail from Cape Jervis to Spalding and the Northern Guide provides coverage of the Heysen Trail from Spalding to Parachilna.

Heysen Trail Map Sheets

Heysen Trail Map Sheets

The Heysen Trail Map Sheet series is comprised of eight maps which providing complete coverage of the 1,200 km trail. 

The new map sheet series is printed double sided (A1 size) on special waterproof and virtually tear resistant stone paper which makes the maps a durable companion for trail walkers. The maps have been conveniently folded to DL size.  

The maps provide detailed 1:50,000 topographic maps, elevation profiles, safety information, trip planning information plus general visitor information.

  • Map Sheet 1 - Cape Jervis to Kuitpo Forest
  • Map Sheet 2 - Kuitpo Forest to Tanunda
  • Map Sheet 3 - Tanunda to Burra
  • Map Sheet 4 - Burra to Spalding
  • Map Sheet 5 - Spalding to Wirrabara Forest
  • Map Sheet 6 - Wirrabara Forest to Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park
  • Map Sheet 7 - Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park to Mernmerna Creek
  • Map Sheet 8 - Mernmerna Creek to Parachilna Gorge
