Abstract

The Flora of South Australia describes every species of flowering plant and fern native to or naturalised in the State and provides a means to identify plants to family, genus and species in the form of keys; most species are illustrated. It is the main reference work for plants of the State. This 4th edition of the Flora contains contribution of almost one hundred authors and illustrators, and was edited by John Jessop & Hellmut Toelken. It was produced for South Australia's Jubilee 150 celebrations.

Since the publications of this edition the number of plants has increased by over one thousand species. A new 5th edition is currently in preparation and being published online.
