Change Detection Program
The Change Detection Program uses satellite images to detect changes to the quality and quantity of the native vegetation in the state’s rural agricultural regions.
The Program makes comparisons of satellite images taken at regular intervals over extended periods of time. All changes to the native vegetation landscape are then additionally verified using methods such as high resolution aerial photography and site inspections.
The Native Vegetation Change Detection Program fact sheet (409kb pdf) provides a detailed explanation of the Program and examples of satellite images.
