State NRM Program - Community Grants

The 2012-13 State NRM Program Community Grants scheme is now open.

The Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation Paul Caica has announced $2 million in funding to support community groups carry out local land care, coast care and water care projects. Funding will be provided for a range of NRM activities such as sustainable land management, weed control, native plant revegetation, soil protection, fencing watercourses, and habitat protection for native animals.

Small grants up to $10,000 and medium grants between $10,001 and $30,000 are available.

Small Grants (up to $10,000 GST exclusive)

Small grants require less paperwork and are ideally suited to volunteer-based community organisations. Upon project completion, community groups must provide a final report outlining achievements and financial acquittal of funds.

Medium Grants ($10,001 to $30,000 GST exclusive)

Medium grants have slightly more complex contractual arrangements requiring a higher level of accountability including the requirement to provide project activity outputs and financial statements, which may be audited. For projects awarded medium grants, community groups must provide a mid-term progress report and a final report outlining achievements and financial acquittal of funds.
